Belgian mezzo-soprano Linsey Coppens will make both her role and house debut at Opéra de Lausanne in the 2025/2026 season as Ghita in Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg. She will also perform the role of Suzuki in a new production of Madama Butterfly with Opera Compact and cover the roles of Narratrice and Mère in Ali, an opera by Grey Filastine, at La Monnaie / De Munt. On the concert stage, she will appear as the alto soloist in Carl Maria von Weber’s Missa Sancta No. 2 ‘Jubelmesse’, in collaboration with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Choir.

In the 2024/2025 season, Linsey made her debut at Staatstheater Nürnberg and Theater Aachen as Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, and at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen as Page in Salome. She concluded the season by performing the role of Tisbe in La Cenerentola at Stadttheater Klagenfurt. During the 2023/2024 season, she made her house debut at Stadttheater Klagenfurt as Wellgunde in Götterdämmerung, and sang Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Theater Hagen. She also performed as Second Norn and Wellgunde in Götterdämmerung at Staatsoper Stuttgart, where she made her debut as Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel.

From 2020 to 2023, Linsey was a member of the Opera Studio at Staatsoper Stuttgart. During her time in the studio, she performed roles such as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Siegrune in Die Walküre, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Wellgunde in Götterdämmerung, Linetta in Prokofiev’s Die Liebe zu drei Orangen, and Ozias in a staged version of Juditha Triumphans. She also appeared as a guest artist at Nationaltheater Mannheim as Siegrune in Die Walküre, and at the Ruhrtriennale Festival as Violet/Mary in Olga Neuwirth’s Bählamms Fest.

On the concert stage, Linsey has performed Bach’s Hohe Messe, St. Matthew Passion, and Weihnachtsoratorium; Duruflé’s Requiem; Handel’s Messiah; Mozart’s Coronation Mass; Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle; and Theodorakis’ Canto General.

Linsey is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the ‘House of Music Hungary’ Prize at the 5th Éva Marton International Singing Competition and the ‘Van Riemsdijk Prize’ at the 55th Opera | Oratorio edition of the International Vocal Competition in ’s-Hertogenbosch. She was a finalist in the 2024 Tenor Viñas Competition and the 2023 Voix Nouvelles Competition, and a semi-finalist in Operalia 2021, the 2023 Queen Elisabeth Competition, and the 2024 Sumi Jo International Singing Competition.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and a master’s degree from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. She graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam in 2020.
